Last Sunday, February 11th, marked an unforgettable event at MKS as we joyfully celebrated the arrival of the Lunar New Year! π
Our cozy gathering kicked off with a delightful cooking session, where our enthusiastic students joined hands to prepare the traditional Korean New Year's dish, Tteokguk (Rice Cake Soup). π² Amidst laughter and teamwork, everyone mastered the art of crafting this heartwarming delicacy.
But wait, there's more! We couldn't resist indulging in the sweet flavors of "Yakgwa" (Korean Honey Cookies), a treat enjoyed during this auspicious occasion. πͺ
And what's a celebration without dressing up? Our students had a blast trying on vibrant Hanbok attire, immersing themselves in the elegance of Korean tradition.Β π
But the fun didn't stop there! We also learned the art of "Sebae," the traditional bowing custom performed to wish elders a prosperous new year. Students even got to experience the cultural exchange of receiving "Sebae Money," symbolic envelopes filled with mock Korean currency. π΅
As the day unfolded, our dedicated teachers extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants, expressing joy at the lively and enriching event. With the success of our first event of the year, we're filled with hope and excitement for the promising journey ahead in 2024. π
