Our Monthly Language Exchange — Growing Together!

On Friday, Sep 19, we gathered again for our monthly language exchange — and it was as fun, friendly, and slightly chaotic (in the best way) as ever. ✨

What began as a tiny experiment is now a tradition we count down to each month. Students, friends, and language-curious newcomers pull chairs together to practice Korean and English, swap culture notes, and laugh through those “Wait… how do you actually say this? 🤔” moments.

What we did this time

  • Themed Roundtables: We split into small groups and rotated through bite-size themes (travel tips, food & café talk, work/study life, K-culture & slang). Prompts were in both Korean and English, so everyone got talk-time and new phrases.

  • Advanced Table — Korean Monopoly (모노폴리 게임): Our advanced learners played a full round with the teacher—negotiating, buying, and paying rent in Korean. Bonus mission cards pushed honorifics, bargaining phrases, and number practice. Lots of laughter, lots of vocab!

Why it works (for every level)

Whether you’re Beginner or Advanced, you get:

  • real conversations (not just textbooks),

  • kind partners who help you through awkward pauses, and

  • the confidence boost that only comes from using the language.

Join us next time

New faces are always welcome — come for the language, stay for the warm vibes (and the snacks 🍪). Bring a friend, or show up solo and leave with one.

Pro tip for first-timers: prepare two quick intros (one in each language) and one question you’re curious to ask. Example:

  • “What’s a polite way to refuse an invitation?”

  • “서울에서 가을에 꼭 가야 하는 곳은요?”

📍 Details for the next exchange will be posted soon. If you haven’t joined yet, you’re always welcome — keep an eye out, or DM us “EXCHANGE” and we’ll send the info. See you next month! 🌕🗣️💬
